Linda Stake
Linda Stake accepted the Lord 65 years ago in a little church in Ashland, Ohio. She has loved the Lord since she was “knee high to a grasshopper.” Even through the challenges of her teenage years — when she wasn’t always a fully committed Christian — God’s faithfulness never wavered.
In 1974, after marrying and starting her family, Linda rededicated her life to her Lord and Savior. From that point forward, she committed herself to serving Him out of love and obedience wherever He called her.
Children’s Ministry has always been Linda’s passion. Over the years, she has served in many roles, but God continually anchored her heart in ministering to children. She and her amazing husband, Jim, who loved children just as deeply, had the joy of co-teaching Sunday School together. Linda has also faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Coordinator, and helped lead numerous children’s holiday programs.
Jim went home to be with the Lord 24 years ago. Together, they were blessed with biological, adopted, and several foster children — a testimony to their love for family and their heart for nurturing young lives.
Linda has attended Paradise Church for nearly seven years. It has been her privilege to serve as Sunday School Coordinator for most of that time and to serve on the church board. Her continued dedication reflects her lifelong commitment to investing in the next generation.
Over the years, Linda has treasured many Bible verses, but her all-time favorite is Isaiah 40:8:
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”
This verse beautifully reflects her faith — a steady confidence in the unchanging promises, guidance, and faithfulness of God through every season of life.
Linda’s story is one of enduring devotion, faithful service, and a lifelong love for children and for the Lord.
