Pastor James “Jay” Hill has faithfully served the Lord for over three decades and has been in pastoral ministry for nearly 19 years. Raised by strong, God-fearing Christian parents, Jay was brought up in the ways of the Lord, laying a foundation that has shaped his life, faith, and calling.

Jay earned his Bachelor of Arts in Scripture and Ministry from Christ College in Florida. His heart for service has always been rooted in a willingness to do whatever God calls him to do. Over the years, he has faithfully served in many roles including Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Vacation Bible School teacher and coordinator, church trustee, and even church bus driver. Jay often says he was willing to do anything God needed him to do—and he lived that out through faithful service.

In 2015, Pastor Jay answered God’s call to lead Paradise Church at a time when attendance had dwindled to just four people, not including himself and his childhood pastor. With faith, perseverance, and trust in God’s provision, he stepped into the role of Senior Pastor believing God was not finished with the work there.

Pastor Jay has been married to his wife Connie for many years, and together they are blessed with eight children and twelve grandchildren. Family is very important to them, and when time allows, Jay and Connie enjoy taking walks, hiking, camping, spending time at the beach, and sneaking away for a relaxing ride on their Slingshot on a warm summer afternoon.

When asked about his favorite Scripture, Pastor Jay shares that it changes with the season of life he is in—believing God’s Word always speaks exactly what is needed at the right time.

Pastor Jay’s life and ministry reflect a heart fully surrendered to God, a love for people, and a commitment to faithfully shepherd the church God has entrusted to him.
