Alaina Sterken
Alaina Sterken serves as the Worship Leader at Paradise, faithfully guiding the church family into the presence of the Lord each week. From an early age, she recognized God’s calling and anointing on her life for worship and music. She considers it a sacred honor and a serious responsibility to lead others in worship, and she treasures the opportunity to do so.
Raised as a preacher’s kid, Alaina has been in church her entire life. However, she understands that simply attending church or playing a part does not bring salvation—only a true relationship with Jesus Christ does. At the age of 21, she made the life-changing decision to fully surrender her life to Christ. Saying “yes” to Jesus has been the greatest decision she has ever made, and she continues to say yes to everything He calls her to do.
Her commitment to ministry extends beyond worship leading. Alaina serves as a board member, teaches the Paradise Core Class, leads discipleship groups, and supports various church events throughout the year. She remains focused and ministry-minded by holding fast to her favorite scripture, Proverbs 3:5–6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.” This verse anchors her life and keeps her centered in God’s will, reminding her daily to trust Him fully in her Christian walk.
While she deeply values serving in church and throughout the community, Alaina believes her first and most important ministry is her family. She has been married to her husband, Scott, for 24 years, and together they have been blessed with two wonderful children, Jael and Silas, who also love and serve the Lord. Being a wife and mother continually reminds her of the responsibility to spiritually nurture her own family before leading others. She believes that effective spiritual leadership begins at home.
When she is not at church, Alaina enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, creating joyful memories and cherishing the happiness of those around her. She is grateful for the life God has given her and embraces her roles as a wife, mother, friend, and church leader. Above all, she lives with the conviction that the only thing that can be taken to Heaven is people—and she is determined to help make Heaven crowded.
